I'm interested in exploring either a hosted Moodle site or otherwise being able to set up a Moodle application. I don't have hard-core technical experience. I have some familiarity with creating templates, sections etc in Blackboard's Vista product.

My purpose in all this is to illustrate the potential Moodle can offer to training departments, especially in the area of soft-skills development via collaborative problem solving.

Soo... does anyone have any recommendations (or ideas regarding who I should never consider going to) for hosting? I'm really at the point only interested in creating proof of concept, rather than building a Moodle "empire".

Thanks in advance for an advice. It's actually just great to talk with some people who are into Moodle!

Best,
Mary

TIES hosts Moodle courses and offers hosting services for an entire district's server. There are other options such as Moodle Partners. You are welcome to contact us, hopefully we can answer your questions.

Hi, Troy,

Many thanks for these resources. I took a look at both TIES and Moodle Partners sites. I'll try the "contact us" link and see if there's a possibility for my presentation preparation with you-all. Otherwise, I'll have the Moodle Partners option.

Best,
Mary

Mary, did you ever get the answers you were looking for?

Yes -- thanks, I did! I gave the presentation once to ASTD in summer 2008 and again to the Digital Learning Forum in January.

Best,
Mary
